Nothing of great significance has compelled me to write for a while now, but I have a little time so i'll tell about a mini-trip.
A week or so (maybe two weeks) ago i went with a neighbor to the town of Aachen for the evening to see her son perform in a choir. We had some time to see parts of the town, so it was a good mini-trip. Aachen has an interesting history. The town was historically the location where kings of the Holy Roman Empire were crowned. It is/was also an important stop on the pilgrimage route of St. Jacob. The cathedral in Aachen is pretty cool i find, do to its Eastern style. The Rathaus in Aachen is also an interesting building. The music that evening was Gregorian/Byzantinian chant-right up my alley. i truly enjoyed it.
